These are classics - very hard to play - lots of bends and the Clapton early genius - before he lost it with drugs.

So totally agree with that and will also add Johnny's version of Rusty Cage by Soundgarden. He so made that song his own. Actually Johnny did some amazing covers. One (U2) and Personal Jesus (Depech Mode) would be two others I'd recommend checking out.

As for other covers I enjoy...well Marilyn Manson did some great versions of Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics), Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode) and Tainted Love (Soft Cell) and I enjoy many of the other songs already mentioned in this thread.
