Pachelbel Canon in D Lessons

About the Pachelbel Canon in D Lessons series

Something happened in 2005, when Jeong-Hyun Lim (known as "Funtwo") recorded a cover version of JerryC's "Canon Rock". Not only did the arrangement gather massive media attention - but more importantly it planted a seed in the hearts of aspiring guitarists all over the world.

Funtwo proved that if you have a guitar and an Internet connection - you can do it. At GMC - we have always known that anyone can do it.

However - not everyone can find the motivation, self confidence and inspiration to practice every day, every week.

We hope these lessons inspire you. :)

Welcome to the lesson of my speedy metal arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon in D. I'm not using much difficult techniques, I keep it relatively simple. The tricky part might be playing it up to tempo and getting the bends right.

Ragtime is a musical genre that was mostly in use at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, and it was the first real American music genre. It has a predominant bass and chords patterns on odd and even beats and a syncopated melody.
