  • HEY GMC!

Welcome to my new lesson. This time we take a look at the king of Gypsy Jazz! Django Reinhardt.
Django has an inimitable style but we'll try our best to get close to his brilliance with a look at his common techniques and approach to soloing over chords.

In this piece i've taken the chords from the famous jazz standard 'All of Me' to give us a really interesting chords progression to solo over, showing how Django utilised arpeggios for a free flowing and melodic style of improvisation.

    KEY: C Major
    TIME: 4/4
    TEMPO: 210

    CHORD PROGRESSION:

    | C Am | Dm7 G7 | C Am | Dm7 G7 |

    | C | C | E7 | E7 | A7 | A7 |

    | Dm7 | Dm7 | E7 | E7 | Am7 | Am7 |

    | D7 | D7 | Dm7 | G7 C#9 |

    | C | C | E7 | E7 | A7 | A7 |
