  • HI GMC!

This week we're finally taking a look at Slide Blues guitar (bottlneck)

The lesson looks into the correct technique to use when playing slide and the common tunings you will find nearly all slide blues musicians using.

The piece uses an open G tuning so our strings are tuned D G D G B D (6-1). It is a standard 12 bar blues in G and due to the tuning we are able to play the chords with a straight line shape, perfect for a slide!

The piece is in the style of lots of my favourite players including Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Robert Johnson, Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth etc

Have fun and expect more slide lessons soon!
