  • Welcome to my new lesson in the style of George Bellas.

Bellas is a technically brilliant guitar player who is renowned for his use of economy picking and sweeping.
His musical style could be described as neoclassical and progressive.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Bellas hardly uses any gain at all so his tone sounds very mild and percussive. Whilst this can show up any errors in one's technique it is refreshing to hear such clean technique as every note shows through with clarity. I recommend practising like this in your own time so you can really focus on your pick strokes and hand coordination.

As I said, George is a master of economy picking and sweeping so this lesson is full of both techniques. If you think you know about arpeggios then think again!
This will not only challenge you but it will give you some new ideas on how to apply your sweep picking in different ways.

The tempo starts in 4/4/ and switches to 3/4 halfway through.

    Enjoy!
