  • Hi GMC'ers!

This is a second part of Heavy Funkin' Soloing - both lessons together give a complete original composition of mine - Heavy Funkin' Dragon!

Here we're gonna combine some fast, palm muted alternate picking licks with funky groove and melancholic feel in the ending part. Most of the rhythm ideas are influenced by guys like Nuno Bettencourt and Paul Gilbert. Funky part contains some well know short licks as well as speed alternate picking and funky-blues tricks. In the ending part we will practice some bending and unusual tapping rhythm.

When practicing remember to keep everything as clean as possible. Sometimes it's much harder to mute all the unwanted strings, than just picking the needed notes. Minimizing your right and left hand movements won't make Your playing look so awesome but it improves skills and keeps hands more relaxed while playing.
