  • Hi GMC!

In this lesson I want to share with you some ideas of jazz fusion phrasing over minor II V I progression.
    The backing track is a 2 bars vamp with latin feel : I A-7b5 / D7alt I G-7 I

We gonna use simple scales - G harmonic minor, G minor and G pentatonic/blues scales - and sometimes to spice things up I use chromaticism and passing tones. The G minor pentatonic scale works also very well on these chord progression.

As always try to analyse the choice of notes, the rhythm placement, the shape etc... In other words : try to learn "from" the lick and not only a collection of licks.
Hope this lesson will help you to find your own ideas!

    Have fun!
    Stephane
