  • The "Swamp Pop Solo" lesson is inspired by the swampy, rocking, piano sounds of Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino. However, the solo draws from the dripping reverb sounds of blues guitarist, Roy Buchanan. One of the primary techniques in this lesson is string bends with volume control swells. The tone is a thick "Fender" sound using the bridge pickup of the Tele into an overdriven amp with lots of spring reverb. Some typical chicken picking techniques are also present including: double-stops, hybrid picking, and muted 16th note triplet licks.
