  • Welcome to my new lesson. We're on the 3rd lesson covering thrash soloing and this time we're looking at Chris Poland style playing, which involves a lot of precise string bending.

Most people know how to bend but few players are able to display the agile accuracy of Poland, especially during a piece of fast, aggressive music where it's easy to get carried away by the energy of the song. What I want to teach in this lesson is the ability to play something slow and restrained over a fast riff.

I've covered aspects of Chris's style before but this lesson is a bit more accessible to intermediate players.

    This lesson will improve:

    - String bending
    - Legato
    - Vibrato
    - Ability to take over the world

You've already been shown a few different licks to break out over a thrash rhythm so this lesson will give you something to balance out all that speed with. Get practising!
