  • Hello everybody, today I bring some bossa patterns. The idea of this series of patterns is to train your right hand in a way so that the pattern can be internalized so you can play it while improvising with the rhythm.
You can learn the voicings looking at the chord diagrams at the top of the score, and then use the pattern.
I have choose the harmony progression of the first phrase of Corcovado by Jobim, and today's pattern deal with the bass on the root.
I have written this pattern in 4/4 time signature for easier explanation, however the actual music is often played in 2/4. To get the feel try slightly marking the syncopa and the bass on the second beat (beats 2 and 4 on a 4/4 time signature) at that time often plays the "zurdo", which is a very big bass-drum on percussion ensemble.
Hope you like it. Have fun!
