In today's lesson we'll study a full little instrumental song that should hopefully inspire you to create your own compositions in that particular style. The song is divided into two distinct parts: the main riff and the lead section.
For the main riff, we'll be using notes from E minor pentatonic scale. Use a strong attack while playing the riff and play with much conviction. Following is the minor pentatonic scale with which we'll create the main riff.
Once the main riff created, we'll move to the solo section in the key of B minor. We'll try to create something melodic and technically interesting. As far as the scales go, let's try to keep it simple using B minor pentatonic and B Aeolian (also known as B natural minor).
Once you are comfortable with the licks of this lesson, try to come up with your own and be creative. Have fun!
