  • Hello GMC!

-In this lesson we are going to explore some funky slap bass techniques. This time we are going to focus on playing "Hammer-ons". They are most integral part of all funk slap bass lines so learning how to play them nice and clean is essential technique to develop.

-You are going to jam a funky slap groove utilizing mostly hammer-ons. You will also incorporate other techniques like thumping, left hand slapping and playing triplets in this one. You will also give your left hand a nice workout in order to get those hammer-ons clean!

-This lesson is in the key of Em. I used E minor pentatonic scale for constructing this groove.

    -Key: Em
    -Tempo: 120 bpm
    -Time signature: 4/4
    -Tuning: standard
    -Difficulty: intermediate

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun slapping in this one!
