  • Welcome to my first "In the style of" lesson here on GMC, this one tries to capture the style of one of my biggest influences... Mr. Toni Iommi and Black Sabbath.

He can be considered to be the godfather of Metal and is one of the most influential musicians in the whole music scene. His heavy riffs are milestones and his doomy melodies with a lot of half tone progressions brought darkness into music :) Together with Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and Ozzy Osbourne he created and formed Heavy Metal throughout the 70's, and after Ozzy had to leave the band he continued with some of the best singers around, people like Ronnie James Dio, Ian Gillan, Glen Hughes or Toni Martin.

I hope you enjoy this lesson as much as I enjoy Black Sabbath's music, in case you have any questions, feel free to ask.

    Marcus
