welcome to GMC man, awesome first lesson
Thanks guys !
Great lesson, Great Playing !
But I didn`t understand the text on the last page. Do you mean that if I play a A minor chord, that I can use a A minor pentatonic scale starting from A, B or E. And on a A major chord that i can use a A minor pentatonic scale starting from C#, F# (or G# for a Lydian [#11] sound)?
Zicco
Hi zicco,
A minor (or C major) pentatonic scale works good over major #11 chords, coz it has the 3 and 7 + all the tensions. You can also use the A minor blues scale. Now, Lydian scale is the 4th degree of the modes and is played over major chords that have a IV function. Its only difference with the normal major scale is the #11. Because the 11 is raised a half tone, there is no avoid note in the Lydian scale. Over A major chord try basic F# minor pentatonic or extended F# blues scale.
Superb! Glad you joined GMC man!
Just rediscovered this lesson, great chops and very musical. I love this lesson man!

WOW at 0:35 - 0:37 you're completely slaughtering the song ! I've never seen anyone played this fast, but yet so extremely smoothly...
Well done !
Bravo!

Unfortunately the tab isn't completly correct...I think it would be great if you may check at least the fast part ...I tried to work it out by ear...
