  • Hello GMC!
Today we have my solo over Sequence Collaboration. You can read more about sequence collaboration at this link.

The idea of this first class is to teach you how to solo using Sequence. Sequence is basically playing same thing trough different scale degrees or taking same idea and moving it trough specific scale. Sequence is closely related to motive which we will talk about in future.

Backing track consists of 3 different chords and might remind you of a lot of different tunes (All along the watchtower might be one of them :) We are in the key of C# natural minor or related E major. You can use those scales as well as C# minor pentatonic and E major pentatonic for your ideas.

Watch the spoken video as you will hear explanations regarding each sequence I used as well as my intentions with this solo.

Here are some things you will learn from this lesson:

    - How to solo using sequence
    - Transposing your ideas trough guitar neck
    - Vibrato
    - Bending
    - Sweep picking
    - Economy picking
    - Straight rhythm vs syncopated etc

For this lesson I used my custom built guitar going trough POD X3 Live into Nuendo. The effect I used was Treadplate.

Have fun learning the solo, check out spoken and slow videos and I look forward to your responses and takes!
