  • Hi guys, Joe Kataldo here, today I wanna show you arpeggios in a cooler way, combining them with another great technique, string skipping, to create a powerful workout!

String Skipping Arpeggios Workout - 110BPM
    ------------------------------------------

All the seventh arpeggios that belong to the key of C major are diatonic played from third position to the fifteen position, skipping one string:

    Cmaj7 - Dm7 - Em7 - Fmaj7 - G7 - Am7 Bm7/b5

    Theory Focus
    ------------

Arpeggios are build stacking thirds from the parent scale C Major up to the 7, all the notes belongs to the key of C.

    Techniques focus
    ----------------

Here's come the hard part! String Skipping double the accuracy needed to play arpeggios and string, you have to concentrate a lot on right hand movements, that carefully has to skip one string, without touching it and causes unwanted extra noise, while keeping a constant down-up alternate motion from the wrist. The reward is a ear catching moder sound, that will surely, once mastered lead you to some cool riffs.

    Pro tips
    --------

Apply string skipping to stuff you already know, like 3-notes per string scales or pentatonics, to make them sound fresh and modern.
