Great lesson Muris. I like the open chords at the beginning.
Thanks folks!
Yeah, hope it'll make many EVH fans here happy.
Awsome work as always. I think EVH would struggle to play in the style of Muris

There's a thread about it and review as well on forum, check it out.
Muris!!!!
Stop the madness!!
Excellent stuff!!
OK
Awesome Muris! I've always wondered how Eddie did those cool "dive bomb" effects. I see now that you do a pull off first and then hold down the wammy bar. Thanks for this lesson!
You got it Jeff
And you're more than welcome!!
oh Muris...my hero... if i was a girl..
oh ya very good lesson, i'm big EVH fan, thanks
Muris,
If EVH had heard of you, he would be to scared to leave the house
You are amazing! Excellent lesson!
Thanks Matt,that's too kind.
yuriy_boyko,sadly but you aren't.
Are you ?
You did it again muris.
Very Cool stuff!
very nice
Thanks for completing my request Muris. I appreciate it.
Just when I think you cannot surpise me any further...you do just that. One of the best lessons ever. Great stuff. Rock on!!
We have grown to expect so much from you Muris and you deliver time and time again. I just love how you can capture whoever it is you're emulating. If I had this one played for me, I'd have guessed EVH for sure. Great Job.
Great job Muris! Are you sure you're not really Van Halen?
I think Muris is the Ultimate Guitarist. Something like YngSlasJHalenVonFriedmanVaughanCooleyJohnsonWinter
greart jop muris
im not, again great lesson!
...I'm shocked by the magnitude of this lesson!
But it's really cool, first Paul Gilbert, now Van Halen! what's next!? Can't wait to try this one out!
All sounds very cool, but i haven't already learned how to make harmonics so could u explain it to me in few words? Thanks
Keep up the excellent work
:0
You're way too kind guys, thanks so much!!
ZaKk WyLdE,are you having troubles with natural or tapped harmonics?
Muris, you're my hero... This is amazing!
just amazing, are you sure you dont posess magic powers ?? I mean com on!! :} ;}

very nice muris, i see the style of van halen in it .. nice lesson ..
Oh how Eddie it was!
You guys are sooo great,thanks!!
Muris, what kind of guitar are you using in this video. whatever it is it looks great!
Thanks:)
It's my custom model from MK Guitars custom shop in Bosnia.
There's thread about it in my sub-board,check it out.
Good lesson Muris.
Yes,the fact is i don't know how to make em' so could u explain to me?
Thanks
Keep up the work
is it possible when you do a lesson to include your settings used on the korg pandora
There are many threads in my sub-board in forum, for both tapped harmonics
and Pandora settings,be sure to check them ALL out!!
Wow! I want this one on my Mp3!
zomgbbqw00tness..
Muris this is excellent!!
what ive been expecting..fabulous
Muris,
To me this sounds like a EVH/Vito Bratta mix, very cool!!
Awesome, like always Muris, Keep um commin!!
Amazing! My dreamed lesson! I always had so much trouble figuring out Van Halen! Thanks man. Much appreciated.
Glad you're having fun with it guys, thanks!!
OH!!! this was awesome!!!!
Thanks Pablo,it's an honor to hear it from a fellow instructor!!
ffs!! i cant hit that last tapped harmonic
It is the hardest one,indeed.
Add more gain and tap it harder, might comes up.
Uh!! those harmonics are a pain!! great lesson tough. One of the best lessons at gmc.
Thanks!
Yeah, they are a bit nasty but give it some time,
you'll be fine,I'm sure of that.
Ooh..I like it. g
I the tapping to be more than a pain, my hand just barely reaches the 11th fret and it wont reach the 12th. Muris, do you have big hands or is something that I will be able to strech my hand with practice... I can cheat and use my right hand's point and middle finger while holding the pick with my other 3 fingers... maybe I just invented my own tapping technique!!
Is it problem in left or right hand?
I guess 12th fret and stretch is related to left hand, from 7th to 12th if I'm correct.
Not sure I got right the tapping issue.
=) It is a left hand problem, when i do the tapping my small finger hits the strings below and I wont sound clean but freaty and the 12th is almost unreachable. Maybe my had position is no as as front as it should be.
Try setting your thumb a bit lower.
That'll give you more space for bigger stretches like here.
Looks like my hand IS big after all.
kick a*s ! :]
I'm not getting that very last note I know its an open G string but what is <>L <>L O ?
L means tied note,notation stuff.
Don't pay much attention to it atm, just follow numbers.
well i just learned this and its a great solo! but
is it ok if i tap in the pattern of 14-11-7-14-11-7
instead of 7-11-14-7-11-14?
wow, muris. korg should really be paying you to demo the pandora - the way you can mimic anyone's tone! i just cant seem to get such great stuff out of mine!!
Already said it once, but this is an amazing lesson! There's some pretty complicated stuff here and there, with tapping, harmonics (both natural and tapped), legato - all made ridiculously easy! Only Muris could do that. This is one of my favorite lessons on this website!
who da man ? muris da man...this lesson has zing..really nice
Wow amazing lesson muriz. What gear are you using? The sound was amazing.
awesome sound and tone muris .. yeah i would also like to know what gear you are using ..
Korg Pandora PX4D into audio card
Hi there, I'm new here, just looking around and bookmarking great sounding solo's/licks/riffs I wanna spend time on. Almost everything I've bookmarked so far is yours dude, you ROCK!!!
Thanks a lot!!
But be sure to check out other instructor's lessons as well,
they rock too
Will do
Hey I love the look and sound of your axe, what is it?
Thanks
It's my MK Guitars custom model,
more info about it HERE and HERE
i have trouble doing the natural harmonics in the third video; how can i overcome this?
this is so cool cos i make a song out of this as well as solos:D
thanks muris:D
Hey,DON'T make a tune from it,it's MINE!!
About these harmonics,we have had discussion about it HERE
ok. also what does the L mean in the tabs? :S
also do u every practice ur own lessons?
jw cos i thought u wouldnt need to as u made it up! lol
Well every lesson needs some practicing,at least before recording,
just to make sure everything is working right.
"L" means tied note, extended time duration,it's more related to note sheets and notation.
this is my favorite lesson on GMC
Crazy good tapping here.
=D this is amazing!!
really good work
Thanks guys,
let me know if you need any help!
is there any luck there will be a Van Halen style second lesson?
Will try to do something about it,
thanks for the input.
fantastic Muris!!!!!
thanks
oh my gosh, this IS BRILLIANT !!!
please do a second eddie van halen lesson
Thanks, will try to bring more EVH in near future.
Whenever I use my whammy bar my strings become out of tune.
I see...
You have standard tremolo system or Floyd Rose with locking nut?
Wow! I love this lesson!
Glad to hear, let me know if you need any help here!
Great lesson!!
But I don't understand the trmolo picking stuff...
what exactly do you do???
I have a regular whammy. The kind that came with my Strat.
yes the video finally works for me... sweet lesson!
Lester: I just copy the picking as Eddie is doing.
You can do regular picking if you want tho,you wont miss a lot.
But if you wanna do it in his style, then follow my picking hand position.
Pi38: I guess you'll need locking tremolo system for stuff like this,
Start whammy will go easy out of tune, yeah.
sigma7: Thanks!!
Great leson... but to me it has a strong Journey vibe too... especially at the begining (or its just me!?)... well two for the price of one
Might be,not sure tho
Didn't mean to be disrespectful or anything... you nailed it very good, lots of fine evh chops inside! Just love his music and playing... hope they'll manage to hit europe this time around
Muris,
This is a FANTASTIC lesson. I was pretty skeptical at first because Van Halen is pretty hard to emulate. You absolutely NAILED many of his techniques all in this one solo. Well done!
I'm about 10 years away from being able to play this but I look forward to being able to do it. Thanks for sharing this one.
Joel
Thanks
Awesome lesson! I really love the tune. And it's not *that* hard to play also, which is a plus. Even without the whammy bar (playing it on my new PGM10th!), it sounds really cool. I just need to work a lot on these tapped harmonics (I almost can't get any sound out of it).
Thanks Ttask.
Add more gain and highs in EQ,
that will help you with tapped harmonics.
I think tapped harmonics is one of the coolest techniques on guitar, when placed properly. Great job Muris, this is on my to do list.
Tapped harmonics are great tool indeed, cheers
Well, I agree with everything said above, this is a great lesson, very very fun to learn, and exciting since there are so many different techniques.........Great lesson, thanks for submitting it.
Great lesson Muris.
Awesome Muris, that was fantastic
I don't have a whammy, but I'll practice this without one
That was brilliant!
Thanks guys.
That just sounds like fantastic rock, the typical rock sound I love. Awesome!
Glad to hear it Nazgul,
have fun practicing!
MURIS!!! Great lesson, I still think you should send this to eddie... this should be a song of his, I mean, you totally masterd some of those techniques:O. Could you tell me, how you nailed that eddie tone? With flanger!
Thanks Jesse.
The effect I used is chorus actually
and I wasn't trying to imitate Edie's tone to be honest with you
but if it sounds like him then it's good after all.
isit Eb tuning?
hm... srry for triple post:O sidnt do that on purpose
I don't think so,should be regular tuning.
And no worries and triple post.
Great job Muris!
Exellent!
I wish i was better at tabbing by ear since i cant get the whole lesson because this solo piece is amazing!!!! serious no joke!!!
Glad you like it,thanks!
No prob ;D
Very nice muris, in my opinion the best "in style of" lesson.
I love this one.. i hope i will find my tremolo again :/ would like to learn it. (:
Fingers crossed for finding your whammy bar, cheers.
I still can't get over how awesome this lesson is. Even though I can't play it haha
Give it a try tho and let me know if I can help!
Bravo Legendo !
This is awesome
Hvala!!
This is really awesome, Muris!!
When's your next album coming out?
Thanks,probably in 2009.
Eddie Van Halen should see this
You rock Muris!
Svaka cast!
Hvala, hvala!!
You are the best
Great. Still am amazed, bout how well you captured his "tone". This would make a wicked tune!
Cheers.
Great lesson! Love the tapped harmonics part!
Muris I think it's time for another VH lesson and a Paul Gilbert part 3
I can't get enough of these lessons
Probably!
Will think of something, thanks for the input.
Wow, this is very melodic ! Really nice composition, Muris !
Thanks Alex.
wonderfully melodic, and beautiful tone!
Cheers.
difficulty 4?????
Yeah, rating is hard, for someone it's level 2, for someone it's 15 etc.
Give feedback on the lesson (165 replies so far)
Give feedback on the lesson (166 replies so far)
you captured the essence of his playing very accurately!
Cheers!
Wow! I think it'd be difficulty 5 - but this is Muris we're talking about. He's the master shredder!!
I can't stop listening to this!! I love this!!! Especially your tone! How you ever got it to sound so surround is amazing!
Muris you're an Alien !
great lesson keep it up !!!
i think this is a mistake, level 4? no way, level 6 at least, i played a level 6 lesson and this one is way more difficult so what i am actually saying is, greaeaeaeat job !!!
Some people that practice flamenco a lot can play level 6 flamenco lessons and think it is level 3, while I would consider any flamenco level above level 3, level 10 lesson, simple because I haven't played flamenco before.
ln other words - Lesson level grading is something that is a bit relative. We are all different kinds of players, and these level gradings are just given as a general categorization factor.
Dear God this is awesome. I have been having so much fun playing this and seeing improvement that my fingers are numb and throbbing. Thanks for this lesson!
Hi Muris. I love this solo. The phrasing is beautiful. As soon as I saw this lesson I said I have to learn this one. I can play it now and I owe you a huge thankyou. I had to use my guitarthat doesn't have a whammy until my other one is back in action. So I bend the d string on 3rd fret up to the g note and let off and slide down with a harmonic which sounds pretty good. Not as good as the whammy obviously but until I get my other guitar in action it works. You are a huge inspiration Muris....so very well rounded as a player....my utmost respect man.
I absolutely love this. Thanks Muris for sharing this with us!
Muris I just joined and I learned that sometimes its just better to give up LOL
You are the most impressive guitarist I have ever seen in my entire life... I have 1 question for you though. Do you think that anybody can play like you if they really try? or is it that some people who have less talent just can't do it? I mean I 've been playing guitar for 12 years and I am nowhere near your level.
absolutely awesome. thank you so much.
oh my god Muris i can't believe that I am actually able to play this at 100 now..woow thank you!!!
don't mean to sound gay but i love you
i love the harmonics very nice
Very very cool! Many thans Muris!
Great !
great guitar playing iam just enjoying watching you play in the style of evh . i just cant wait to begin learning your lesson! thank you . blown awayhere, wow!
