  • Hello GMC, with this lesson I'm back the odd-time signature world.

I tried to recreate the same feel and sound of my previous Odd-time signature metal lesson.
So I used my Zoom G2.1u with the Mesa Dual Rectifier simulation.
Here the time signature is 11/8.
When you hear a song that uses some odd-time signatures, it's a good exercise to try to find the right time signature.
For the 11/8 you can count the eighth notes, if you feel comfortable.
    I use this subdivision:

Otherwise, you can count the quarter notes and add a eighth note (5/4 + 1/8 = 11/8):
    1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 -1

Be sure to count the last "1" at the right speed (double than quarter notes).

You can find four backing tracks with different speed.

    Key: F# minor (bars 1-4), G minor (bars 5-8), E minor (bars 9-10), A minor (bars 11-13)
    Time signature: 11/8
    Tempo: 164 bpm (quarter note)
