Lesson Series by Todd Simpson
FINGER YOGA!
Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references.
TH1 TRIODE PATCH FOR TODAY
-New Stacking of Pedal Sequence to focus on presence.
-More stereo spread
-Dense reverb room tone
P.S. Using a NEW PICK today. Vinnie made me some Custom "Black" Switchblade Buffed/Sharpened Picks. I love these. These would make a GREAT training pick even if you just used them during our lessons and when working on AP training.
(These are CUSTOM made at this point and not on the menu at the web site. I'm hoping he makes them a permanent product as he did with the original switchblade buffed that he'd customized)
PEDAL TONE AND LINEAR SCALES
We have worked on "Pedal Tones" in the past so this should be familiar. "Pedal Point/Tone" is a Baroque Classical technique of returning to a single note while playing a scale. Seen often in Beethoven's Fuge pieces for example.
Let's look at our first shape. Single string, STRICT Alternate Picking!
Let's try this on other strings as well.
Now Let's combine SINGLE and DOUBLE PICK STRIKES!
-Let's again try it on other strings.
Now let's DOUBLE PICK all of it.
-Let's again try it on other strings.
Now let's Reverse it!
-Let's again try it on other strings.
Reverse with Single/Double Pick
-Let's again try it on other strings.
Reverse all Double Pick
Now the BOSS LEVEL! Down and Back!
-Let's again try it on other strings. -Let's Double Pick it!
Well done!
