Today's lesson is based on the "Running Around" collab from Ben Higgins.
HERE IS THE BACKING TRACK TO PLAY OVER!
Here is what we are going to learn today. Some spiff licks/chops that work well over this backing.
Here is a preview.
PART 1 WARMUP AND BEYOND, WAY BEYOND
SINGLE STRING WORK!
-Start on the high E, then try each string.
-Of Course! We have to DOUBLE and TRIPLE and QUAD PICK this!
ENDURANCE ENDURANCE ENDURANCE! DON"T PICK FROM THE ELBOW!
PART II : PUTTING IT TO USE
Let's put our work in the warmup to good use in our first lick!
PART III : REMEMBER INVERSIONS?
Let's employ our trusty "Minor Scale Inversion" and Palm Mute it and play it in a very Staccato fashion (ALA Ben Higgins).
PART IV : REMEMBER TRIPEGGIOS?
Well, this lick is sorta close to that. Almost an upside down tripeggio.
PART V : PINKY TRIP!
Let's use a triad shape and move our PINKY!
Play each group of three notes, FOUR TIMES.
-Keep it even!
PART VI : REMEMBER PEDAL POINT?
Let's employ a Pedal Point Lick!
The next lick is simple. Try to learn it by ear.
The Final lick is a full G MINOR INVERSION starting from the High E string. For bonus points, pull of this lick either by ear or from memory of previously doing it in our Lessons!
