The more repertoire you have the better!

Hotel California is always a crowd pleaser I double time the arpeggio solo second time round at the end of the song. It always adds a bit of tempo, excitement and speed to the song. From my experience works anywhere through the night.

Besides for great suggestions already mentioned here's some more that work well:

GNR - Sweet child o mine

ACDC - Highway to hell, thunderstruck
Incubus - Drive
Def Leppard - Pour some sugar on me

The main problem is probably from to much practice sitting down.
Considering you're going to be standing up ( most of the time) when performing, definately spend some time standing up during your practice routine.
But like Pedja said make sure your guitar is in a comfortable position for standing up. To avoid injury to your left hand.
You can avoid this by going for a higher strap setting rather than the low one.

Nothing wrong with your song choice at all.
If there is something more challenging you think you can nail then go for it.
In my opinion going for head banging in a music exam might not get the marks ....Depends on the examiner i suppose. haha
In a music exam you going to get marked on performance ( how you play, not head bang )
Technicality etc. If it's just a staight performance playing an energetic rock out song is really not a bad idea.
Whatever you choose just make sure you can play it to the best of your ability and you're comfortable.

Unfortunately you're always going to be your own worst critic. This is good though it just pushes you to do better.
Just remember you have a way of playing that's totally unique to you. Practice as much as possible... both your instrument and ear, and before you know it you'll have people lookin your way going man that guy can shred or strum that G!

Playing in different keys is quite important. So for a bit leave the transposing on guitar pro and try move around on the fretboard rather. Hope this helps!

Don't forget a Noise suppresor!
Becareful as it can kill your tone, you want just enough to keep things quiet and tidy.

Like Muris said you can't go wrong with Boss.

Learning and working out by ear is a great idea for any musician.
The more you do it the better you'll get at it.

There's already been great advice here for that, what you can do to improve your voice is to hum or sing along with your scales. For example take the A natural minor play each note slowly and sing each note played on the guitar.
You can even do this when warming up for your practice session.

Practice is definitely the answer!
If thin picks are comfortable for you then stick with them.

Try practicing alternate picking exercises across two strings and continue from there to 3, 4, 5, 6.
Practice scale fragments to those can help out a bit.
Which ever exercise/s you choose make sure your pick movements are small and your technique is constant.

Your progress totally depends on the amount of time you practice constructively as well.
But remember Rome wasn't built in a day, So just keep on practicing.
