hi kjutte, did you see my funk shred metal lesson?
there you have some "out" playing!
the melodic scale will b a lesson from me for shure in the future!
in this month propably!
my nu cd "Vargton projekt" (out in autumn 2008!)
will have a lot of crazy stuff!
featuring X Frank Zappa/Steve Vai/Fredrik Thordendal of MESHUGGAH
swede drum whiz kid Morgan Agren!
stay in tune!

Another Brian May, and EVH lesson. I mean we have 2 SRV, and that to me seems like a good idea. And about 50 Yngwie style lessons. Another May and EVH would not be overkill.
that are some serious lessons!

Hi there all you guys and girls!
wondered if you all maybe had some questions regarding
tours,sessions,studiorecording,equipment,bandleaders,
fellow musicians,artists,singers,endorsements,
playing in a club, playing in front of 80.000 people
playing abroad (Usa/europe)playing in front of 2 people!
playing in front of only the waiters and bartenders!
playing weddings/TV shows/playback shows/live shows
theater shows/playing in a bigband/playing greek,italian,swedish
playing in a cover band, playing live and recording as a trio
the difficulty and freedom to play in a progressive-metal trio!
playing and recording as an solo artist to write a book a video
to do seminar in italian when youre original language is swedish!
what to do live if your monitor breaks, how to do a soundcheck!
what to do if if you ask 4 some more snaredrum in your monitor
and the monitorman raises the bass?etc
Mats.........

[quote name='-Zion-' date='Jun 12 2008, 09:58 PM' post='209773']
Hi everyone..

So, i have been practicing a lot these last couple of months, and of course the left hand fingers have a lot of hard skin (is it called that in english??)

Anyways, the hard skin on my fingers are beginning to "fall off".. not all at once, but it's tearing off slowly.
I am currently practicing hammer-ons and pull-offs, and pull-offs are very hard to do when the strings get between my fingertip and this hard skin that is somewhat falling off..

I cant rip it off because it will probably tear my whole fingertip off as well, and i need it to play my precious guitar.. I try to remove it a little at a time, but once it's gone, it will come back after 2 days.. it's especially bad after taking showers..

Well.. i cant be the only one having issues like this (i hope), so i was wondering if you guys have any tips, advice or hints to minimize the "flossing" of the fingertips.. Do i dip them in baby oil to keep them "whole", or is this "just the way it's supposed to be"?

Hope you can help,
-Zion-

hi Zion, when you practice very hard or maybe you wet them a lot and play!
its just normal, it happens to me when i study very hard
also depends on the stringthickness and how much bending you do!
i use 011-049 normal tuning and when i do alot of extreme bending
this can happen!
just wait it out!
i never put any oil or anything on my fingers!
cheers!
mats.

Welcome Mats.
thanx jammer91

After watching this video I just realised, is it possible to get a sithar effect out of a guitar?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=FTnWiW8aybs
sure there are the coral sitar(electric guitar but simultating the sitar)
or the electric guitar from" line 6" that simulates loads of sounds!

You seem to use various exotic instruments such as tablas and sithars. My grandfather was friends with Sitharist Virtuso Ravi Shankar in India. Dont know if you know him.
ravi shankar is the best no1! of course i know him, im not really a sitarist
although i really like the sound and feel of a real sitar!
i bought mine in Agra in the north of india some 10 years ago
i have used it on a few trax on my nu cd that will be out in 2008
featuring XZappa drumma whiz kid swede:morgan Agren, metal singer Björn Jansson(tears of anger)
and other incredible musicians!
i like to blues a little bit on the sitar, thats all ,hope you like it!
best regards Mats.

I agree with the fact that mats is a monster guitarist, when i saw your video man, i directly picked my guitar and learned it, what i like about it, isn't the fact that it's difficult to do, i've seen more difficult stuff (specially fast runs on muris lessons are really difficult to do), but i love your out notes, i don't know how did you do to have such a good feeling, i don't know wich scale do you use, how do you think, so that's why i'm still trying to work on your lesson, trying to figure out how did you compose those licks, so i can incorporate your style in my own playing. I may ask you some question though, but i want to work on my own first, try to figure out how do you mix arpegios.
Can't wait for your next lesson dude...
good work

thanx Zizi, really glad you liked it!
