Well I didnt even notice I was playing stacato haha but indeed I am!
Yeah I'm gonna practice some more on the technique, this was a very good excercise, I hope there will be more excercises like this in the future!

Now what would be a good exercise is to try to re-record this again BUT with this in mind:
1. print the backings chord progression on paper (or write it down)
2. play straight half notes
3. improvise directly on the spot by watching the chords on paper, without previously composing the bass line
4. try to incorporate different patterns I mentioned above
5. record live improv, doesn't matter if you make some small mistakes in a take
Generally you want to learn how to improvise this type of line on the spot without composing.
