Hi GMC!
In today's lesson we'll explore some fusion licks using the C mixolydian mode.
Here's the mixolydian mode formula :
Root 2 3 4 5 6 b7
C D E F G A Bb
As you guessed, the funky backing track is build around the C7 chord.
I used some "tricks" to make the phrasing more interesting :
playing in intervals, string skipping, chromaticism etc...
Also, don't forget to transpose the licks in other key... ;)
