(pass, 8.3) Beginner's Corner 7: 5 String Barre Chords, Lesson By Bear Rose |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Beginner's Corner 7: 5 string Barre Chords by Bear Rose total disaster hehehe bad very bad Actually not! Of course, the guitar tone is a bit brighter, and just bursting, but listening to the rhythm I got the impression that you need only a little practice and it will be perfect! On some places the timing is perfect, but some parts needs to be more stable, especially in places where you change chords through the whole neck e.g. Hi Amin - Low Fsharpsus4,Hi E minor..that spots ,chord,s needs to be more tight and precise ! Keep practicing, good job |

Well, these chords are tough, it's difficult to play them, and I think you did a great job, specially with the muting and the strumming hand. Your timing is tight. The problem is the fretting hand, it needs more stamina and speed. You have to change those chords fast, which is not so easy to do when they shift positions so much. So, an 8 from me. Keep an eye on the sound, it's clipping a bit.

hey man! this is a very good take! The guitar tone is a bit saturated but maybe it's a recoding issue. Technically the take is good. The timing is ok most of the time, but I feel that your strumming need more dynamics, it sounds aggressive all the time, even when you are muting the strings. Check Bear's take and you will note what I'm talking about.

Original lesson: Beginner's Corner 7: 5 string Barre Chords by Bear Rose total disaster hehehe bad very bad It wasn't a disaster at all! I liked it! I can see that you put work into it and you did good! A few things you can work on thou! Your timing is a little bit off try to practice it using metronome and set it up to a very slow tempo as you feel more comfortable keep increasing the metronome! Also your sound is overloaded and that's why you are getting picks try to lower your output! -------------------- |

Good take mate! All in all, tighten things up a bit, just like the guys said and take care of the tone - you should get a straight 10 when those are done! All the best
