Not going to say too much. It started out as me redoing an old song of mine, In The Sea Of Sand, and turned into something much different. Based off the Carl Sagan book/ movie of the same name. smile.gif

Contact
_ _ _ _ _ _

Hours and hours alone in silence
Listening to the cosmic static
Brief and tantalizing my hopes begin to rise
Just to fall apart again

Analyze the darkness
Search for the sounds of life
Listen for a gentle
Rise and fall

Twenty four and one are scanning the black
Waiting for an alien voice
A crushing amount of failed endeavors
Is this all for nothing?

Analyze the darkness
Search for the sounds of life
Listen for a gentle
Rise and fall

And then a wave of noise
Structured pulsation

Two, three, five and seven
Mathematical in nature

Words in harmonics
We have contact

The world does not know
And so they fear
Casting doubt on my beliefs

Religious fanaticism
Seeks to subvert
To dethrone our cosmic truth

With bated breath
I impatiently wait
Will I be the one to go?

Forced through space and time
Faster than light
Words are not enough
I had no idea
Struck silent
In awe
