Great! I will help you with your goals and you will be better than just a bedroom guitar player!!!!
Here are a few things to start with! I have created a backing track for you to practice! http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/carmine-mentoring The chord progression is very simple G - C9 - Em7 - D G major C major9 E minor7 Gilmor version D major Since I have never heard you play before I would like you to record a little solo over this track We will analyze it together and I will start giving you licks and exercises to work on! For now I made a Guitar pro file with all the modes in a key of G major I would like you to use some of those as well! All_Modes_in_G_major_.gp5 ( 3.04K ) Number of downloads: 115 You can also play E minor pentatonic A minor pentatonic B minor pentatonic Here is the tab for all modes in G major All modes in G major I am looking forward to hear your ideas! Please let me know if you have any questions!!! This post has been edited by Alex Feather: Mar 22 2012, 09:09 PM -------------------- |

You did a great job!!! I like your take a lot! Very melodic!!!
Things we need to work on: -Timing -Licks -Vibrato -Bends I want to start with a few licks that you can start practicing it will help you develop your own phrasing and will help you grow as a guitar player! Here is a few blues licks I made They are in key of G major and based on E minor pentatonic! So you can practice them over the backing track I did for you! Track 1 Also here is Guitar Pro file! Try to learn the rest and make another recording using the backing track! Tomorrow I will give you two more exercises to work on your vibrato and bending! They are really cool and easy but very helpful!!! You are a very fast learner and doing very well I think you will see a huge progress in your playing in a couple of months! -------------------- |

Thanks Alex
These licks are really challenging, I thought it was just to check which level I was. I recorded two more, here the link http://youtu.be/vibHXG4cUmk Can you point me to some lessons here at GMC where I can get some insight? I am at the Ivan's pentatonic workshop now. Regards Carmine You are doing a very good job Those licks are hard when you are starting to learn them but as you go along it will get easier! Here is a good lesson I found on GMC it's not that hard and those are some cool licks! https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/12_blu..._you_must_know/ Also try to combine pentatonics together and create your own licks! Let me know if you have any questions! -------------------- |

Will try...will try
While I was playing the first of them, I noticed that I could play easily if the heel of my right hand was anchored to he bridge, almost, if not, the whole bridge. Is it fine? This is the first of the 12 licks: http://youtu.be/B1YChiW0mzU Carmine This post has been edited by carminemarotta: Mar 26 2012, 10:27 PM |

If it's easier for you to play this way you can do that I would love to see a video of your right hand so I can get a better idea! When you will learn those licks I would like you to start creating your own using pentatonic combining technique that I explained! If you can make a video of let's say two licks and post it here as well! Looking forward to hear your ideas! -------------------- |

Here are some ideas about combining penatonics:
You can take Ami pentatonic B minor pentatonic Take parts from both and create your own licks! Here is an example: E |----------------|----------------|--5-------------|----|----------------| licks_ideas.gp5 ( 1.83K ) Number of downloads: 111 Creating your own licks is a great idea! First of all you are developing your own style It is much easier to learn your own licks because you made them! Plus you will learn neck better and will be combining pentatonics! It should be really fun! I am looking forward to hear what you came up with! So far you are doing very well! You are a very fast learner and very melodic player! -------------------- |
