There is an unwritten law that guitars MUST be named after a girl. It would help to pick a name if we know what guitar you want to name.

What kind of guitar is it? Color? Specs? Hard to name something good purely by guessing.

My guitars have female names

S470 = Ruby (it's red)
RG550 = Anastasia (a female dog of an ex girlfriend, but I thought she had a gorgeous name, and it was what sprang to mind when I picked up the guitar for the first time)
DV8-R = Lucretia (Mustaine signature, named after a deth song tongue.gif)
Gryphon = Gladys (I don't much like that guitar, and I don't much like the name, but Gladys the Gryphon seems to work).

All that said, I don't think I've ever even said their names aloud.

Don't think you should ask for help on this, but I also don't think you should name your guitar after an old Quake multiplayer map (Necropolis)

Not too original with mine I`m afraid.

My guitars are:

Jackson is just Jacky
Ibanez is Ibby
Fender is Bud (Buddy Guy sig model)
and I`ve got an OLP that I call Olly

Not sure what I`m gunna call my new guitar when it arrives tho, have to wait till I see it and see what springs to mind.

My wife thinks I`m strange when she`ll say "oh you dont play that blue one much these days" and I`ll say "what? Ibby?, nah its having a rest I`m giving Jacky an airing at the moment" laugh.gif

I only named my Jem ....

She is called "The Lady Galadriel", but we are fairly informal when we are alone together and I just call her Galadriel, or even just Glad for short smile.gif

oh man.. I think I had a guitar once that I named, but I can´t remember what. All my guitars are unnamed.. Need to think about this very carefully. Give them appropriate names. Don´t want to make any of them sad.

I dont think it necessarily has to be a girls name.

For example, my Washburn Dime V is always tuned to C and below, and i use it for Death/ Thrash/ Black metal and super heavy/ technical stuff, and that kinda thing doesnt fit as girls name.

So pick whatever you want!

Since were all adding ours, ill add mine smile.gif

Ibanez RG350MDX - Alustriel
Washburn Dimebag Signature V - Unas
Dean MS STD V - Dahlia
Jackson JS30 - Spare Parts (because it is)
Acoustic (Nameless) - Aeris

OOh botox you got a DY RG 20th? I have a black RG 20th, care to trade? tongue.gif I wanted the DY one but when I ordered mine I couldn't get it anywhere sad.gif I would be curious to see how the maple fingerboard stacks up next to the rosewood fingerboard though.
