  • Hi GMC!
I will demonstrate one way of practicing scale positions on guitar, using 4 different positions across the neck. We have lead melody which is later played all around the neck, sometimes all is played in one particular position without moving your left hand, sometimes the left hand is moved to reach higher frets.
This is a very complex lead line we have here with intervals skipping and arpeggios, so keep in mind that you really need to know the scales all around the neck for being able to achieve positions change in real time. Also, it is good way to practice positions changes by taking simple line, or pattern and moving it all around the neck. Arpeggios used are A# minor 7, D# 7, G# maj7, C# maj7, A# dim7, F minor.

    Enjoy!

    Regards!
