Hi GMC! Let's look at the solo part of the bossa nova lesson. As you see, it’s pretty slow, nevertheless it covers all parts of the harmony.
I’ve chosen an uncommon position to start the solo, that is mostly because of the hammer-ons and sound. As you know harmony is pretty much the 2-5-1, still, when it’s being repeated for the second time, it feels different and new, mostly because 2-5-1 starts from third position. I encourage you to play this with a thumb if you can, it’s much smoother.
