  • Hello GMC! Welcome to my "Bass guitar restringing tutorial". In this tutorial I will show you how to properly restring a bass guitar and save old strings as spare set. This is a step by step guide and will be applicable to a majority of bass guitars.

    Required:

    1. New set of strings
    2. String cutter
    3. String winder - optional

    Here are the tutorial steps arranged by videos:

    1. Cleaning and unwinding the strings
    2. Straightening strings for use in a spare set
    3. Removing old strings out of a bass
    4. Making the spare set out of old strings
    5. Inserting the new strings
    6. Winding up new strings
    7. Tuning the strings to correct pitch and stretching them
