  • Hey GMC! Welcome to another Death Metal lesson! This time it's more in the the style of Melodical Death Metal, and is influenced by bands like In Flames and Soilwork.

This lesson is another good rhythm excercise, it's in dropped D tuning and contains these techniques:

    -Only downstroke picking
    -Alternate picking
    -Arpeggios
    -Pedal note rhythms

You will also get to know how to use thirds as chords.

Equipment that I used for this lesson was an LTD EC-1000 through a PodXt connected to my computers line input. If anyone want's the preset, just PM me or put a request on the forums :)

I also added a slower drum backing so you can practise these riffs slowly at first :)

    Hope you like it!

    Key: Dm
    Tempo: 190
    Tuning: Dropped D
