LESSON #57 - Shred in Context Part II

Let's use the Harmonic Minor (3 notes per string fingering)and contrast it with other shapes that compliment it.

Here is our first shape. It involves a rather awkward finger series. It's important to keep each note separate and distinct. keep a solid mute on this or the notes will bleed together, which I what I want you to try and avoid. These four notes are from the A Harmonic Minor Scale. It's just being played in a very awkward fingering.

Take a look at this shape. It's mostly just a major triad sounding pattern. Here how different it sounds compared to the first thing we played? These notes are from the C Major Scale.

Now lets mix in a Harmonic Minor shape done in “Threes” or three notes at a time. Keep the notes very separate and distinct. Use a solid palm mute. Don't let the notes bleed in to one another. Also, be sure to land on the root note. These notes are from the A Harmonic Minor Scale.
