LESSON #89 - Tripeggios (Is it an arpeggio? A Triad? It's a Tripeggio!)

Lesson Series by Todd Simpson

This is our Final Lesson of the year! Let's really RIP IT UP! Lots of great stuff planned smile.gif But first, STRETCHING!

FINGER YOGA! - Let’s do our usual Finger Yoga stretches. Here is a link to the video for references.

LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Let's do our usual warm up lick and see if we can shred it up without melting out arm! Let's pick each note and palm mute as we go.

Now let's start with our shapes. We are going to expand on what we did last week and continue to combine TRIADS and ARPEGGIO shapes. This first one should be simple. Let's try it as a loop, and march it around the neck. Remember to palm mute! Let's pick every note, then sweep pick the first two and hammer/pull the rest.

GETTING CRAZY

Now let's get a bit more crazy! This one is a bit more complicated. We are going to use different shapes in a descending pattern. Let's try it as a loop, and march it around the neck. Remember to palm mute! Let's pick every note, then sweep pick the first two and hammer/pull the rest.

CRAZIER

Here is a preview of our backing track for today. It's almost a NeoClassical Reggae vibe!

Here is the backing for download.

So let's play a set with our backing. We are going to work up some speed here.

CRAZIEST

We are going to build on our new collection of shapes and play it almost like a stand alone Classical Etude. By adding some pedal point/tone elements in to it, we make it a bit more of a challenge. Let's try it as a loop, and march it around the neck. Remember to palm mute! Let's pick every note, then sweep pick the first two and hammer/pull the rest.

NEXT UP!

In this next set, we are going to switch to an ascending pattern and use new shapes. These are different from anything we've done thus far, but are still in our same key/scale. Notice how the patterns seem different, but sound really similar to our previous shapes from today.
