The single coil pickup

The singe coil pickup was first invented by George Beauchamp. He started experimenting with electronic amplification on guitars and after a while he found a way we still use nowadays. The single coil pickup "picks up" the string movement and directs it to the amplificator. It does this by measuring diffrences in the electronic field, suroundin the pickup. When the strings come closer to the pickup, the voltage on the pickup wil raise. The same visa versa. These pickups are to be found on almost all guitarbrands. Fender uses them a lot, and even gibson guitars use single coil pickups (Gibson mostly uses humbucking pickups)
