Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Another go. I know it's not perfect, just hoping I get a pass this time. For some reason this strumming pattern doesn't sit well with me. Oh well.

Hey there mate smile.gif

You did a great job with this one! I think your timing is good and the chord shapes as well. The only things that could be improved, are the tone - too much gain which chokes the chordal clarity and the tuning which seems a tiny bit off.

Please check the tuning before recording, every time, ok? Otherwise, I will let the guys say if they think there's anything else to say smile.gif

All the best and keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi Phil this is LOADS better. I think this is not only due to practise but possibly because you'd kind of thought 'Sod it !' and just recorded a take. As a result you were probably more relaxed and in the groove smile.gif

Only a slightly dodgy chord change right at the end but overall the timing is much more solid - well done !

Hi Phil! Congrats on this take! The improvements comparing this one with the previous take are awesome. You are now going much tighter with the backing track and this is not a simple thing, you adapted very well to timing.

Some details to have in mind:

- Tuning: Your guitar is not perfectly tuned. You must check it always before a recording. If you cannot tune it right, It can be a calibration or an old strings issue. Try changing strings if they are old or visit a professional to solve the problem.

- Tone: It' so dirty for a open chords lesson. Try with less drive and more treble to make it sound clearer and more defined.

- Right hand motion: Check out your right hand motion and compare it with Bear Rose's movements. You will notice that he does some extra movements (up and down) in 8th notes even when he is not reaching the strings. This method helps to play tighter with the overall groove.

That's all, keep on the good job!! wink.gif
