Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Petr, good job with this lesson.

You are able to play the rhythm patterns at tempo and tight. Your timing is consistent on most of the patterns. The only thing that you could improve on this one is your picking intensity which is a bit irregular compared to the original lesson. Please compare your take with the original lesson regarding this element to notice what I mean.

Other than that, you did a good job, keep on rocking.

First of all the tone - Stephane plays this lesson on the neck pickup position. He uses bright tone but plays with medium attack to get that warm, still cutting through the mix tone. I would advice to avoid playing on the bridge positions while using clean tone. Bride position has a quite harsh treble bost and it has been found usefull mostly in country music smile.gif

Through most of your take the timming is proper (just a few moments to fix) but there is alos a problem with picking dynamics. You pircking is not consistent, not even through most of strokes. Some notes are almost at the edge of sustain breaking or almost "invisible". Try to make them sound clear even if you pick very softly. Same with some notes there where pressured to soft (left hand issue) - we hear fret buzz instead of note (between 0:11 - 0:12 for example)

Hi Petr, your timing is good here. I just notice that on the return journey from 0:21-0:27, you veer away from alternate picking by playing upstrokes together. Please watch this section again and see if you can spot what I mean.

This doesn't actually cause a problem. When we're playing slow stuff like this, we can use whatever picking combination we like.. hell, you could use all downstrokes if you wanted. But, if the lesson is being used as an opportunity to practise constant alternate picking, just make sure that you're not doing these movements accidentally as it might interfere with your alternate picking development later on smile.gif
