Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: The Voice Of Your Guitar by Cosmin Lupu

Ok, I practiced hard on this one. I analysed the notes and the backing track chord changes. I played it over the slow backings, played it phrase by phrase and I played it over the original recording. Thank you Cosmin for your help. It might not be absolutely perfect yet, but I think I'm getting closer :)

Hey mate smile.gif

It's definitely improved! I think you are reaching most of the pitches when bending, but of course, all should be perfect and furthermore, you have a tendency to rush the vibrato at the end of each long note, not allowing it to breathe properly.

Also, there's two phrases - around 0:43 and around 01:45 which you are rushing - they are actually the same phrase, but played first in the low and then in the high register smile.gif Focus on it a bit and see the actual length of those notes, ok?

You are clearly progressing mate! Keep up the good job and you will be get there!

Cosmin

Hi Jeroen! I can note that you are working very hard! The improvements are very notorious comparing this take with the previous ones. There is still room to improve this take off course, but you are going on the right track. The most important thing to fix now is your vibrato technique which is not consistent, the motion is not regular, it doesn't go natural with the backing and sometimes your notes end sounding out of tune because of it.

I recommend you to try this lesson:

Keep on working hard! wink.gif
