Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: In the Style of Black Sabbath by Marcus Siepen

Here we go again ^^
This is a lesson that I wanted to upload since a long time ago, but I always felt like there was something wrong, when I played it and actually I still feel like I am making some mistake in this take I uploaded.. I just can't figure out what, but I guess if I knew I'd be doing your job XD

For this lesson I created a sond that was supposed to sound old... just as old as the original black sabbath ^^
I noticed, that Daddy failed to deliver tabs for the backing guitar, so I play powerchord-versions of the notes, the bass was playing according to the guitar-pro tabs^^

Hey Dave, this is shaping up nicely man!

I think that there are certain spots such as 0:08 in which that power chord was not very tight and audible and the vibrato is a bit too small and rushed. These are quite the only things I can suggest, in respect to improving the take, as well as working on an overall feeling of increased tightness.

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Hi David! Nice video. You already learnt the lesson very good, now it's time to work on details to make it sounds more tight and expressive. The first things that you have to focus is timing, try to go tighter with the drums. And the other things are expression concepts like vibrato (check how Marcus applies this technique in longer notes) and the intensity used by Marcus to make this sound more aggressive in some moments like the rhythm starting at 00:28.

Keep on rocking.

Hello - nice tone and good looking - relaxed hands! This take misses a bit of tightness but we speak of details because overall take is descent and pleasant to listen. Well done smile.gif
