Hey guys,

I was looking to upgrade my computer (3.2ghz 4gig ram blah blah) with a new soundcard or audio interface. Anyone recently done this and have any certain sound card suggestions or audio interfaces. I hear about firewire interfaces but not really sure about them. I would say I have about 300-500 USD to spend.

2. Do you have studio monitors as speakers and what model of speakers do yo have?
3. What software are you using as a platform for you new DAW (reaper, nuendo, protools..)?
4. Are you planing to use it for for demo recordings at home?
5. How many ins and outs do you need?
6. Do you have some sort of mixer?
7. What is your experience with DAW and recording\producing so far in your oppinion?

Muris suggested a good sound card.If you don't need anything advanced you can save money and buy line6 tone port..Works well for recording home demos..and its easy to use wink.gif

Well, he already has a Live POD, and it functions pretty well as a card, I presume that he wants to get something more serious, but if you could please answer my questions m8, I think I can help you more if I have some detailed info. Thanks.

Muris, exactly what I was looking for thanks. I was in need of a new pc soundcard as mine went "dead". But I figure I might as well try something like this to work on some of my songs at my house. I use a variety of DAW's. Reaper/cubase/protools. I don't own studio monitors at the moment, but sometime in the future would be nice.
