Hey mate!

Welcome back to the REC zone It's a good thing you decided to tackle these beginner lessons, as they are the building blocks for pretty much every important technique you need to work with on the guitar. The main thing here, is timing - you are rushing throughout the whole take and for that, I strongly recommend you to record against the original, in order to get a good grasp on the timing of each phrase.

Another important aspect - notice for instance at 0:41-0:42, the hammered on notes lack definition and are shorter in duration than they should be. Please focus on this aspect as well, by listening to the recording you will have to do over the original - you will notice this aspect as well, so please focus on the correct note length and make the hammer on defined. It takes a bit of practice, so I'd isolate the hammer on passages and work them out at a slower tempo, with the metronome.

If you fix this aspect, you will most likely get a good solid take here

Hi man,

nice! But beside the timing issues Cosmin already mentioned you should work more on these points:

1. It's a nice melody so let the guitar "sing" it and add vibrato, like a singer would do. This makes it so much more interesting for you AND the listener

2. Dynamics are always very important. Think like making sentences here. When you speak, some words a lower or higher , louder or softer too. So do the same with your guitar and tell a short story.

Hi Rhida, good job with this technique! Your hammering is sounding good and clear. The problem is again timing. You are not playing the different licks tight with the backing. In the first section (00:02 to 00:26) you are not playing the correct rhythm, the second note of each looped pattern is played before it should be. Then, starting at 00:26 the problem is mostly a timing issue.

Legato technique has usually two difficulties, the first one is making the notes sound good, and the second one is being able to play it tight with tempo. You have the first one mastered, now you should focus on timing and rhythm. As I said you previously, practice over the original lesson to check the rhythm.

Finally, you are missing the vibrato added in the main lesson, it gives to the tune much more feeling. Try it!
