> IS THAT YOUR MAMA?

Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hmm.. I'd be honoured if you gonna mentor me C-Maestro smile.gif

My strongest technique is alternate picking smile.gif And i am pretty good at vibratos and legatos i guess. But i feel like they can be improved much more smile.gif My weakest technique is sweep picking so i'd like to master it as soon as possible smile.gif Also i want to learn hybrid picking since i know you are pretty good at it smile.gif As for my prefered music styles, i like to play rock/metal most. Also i like blues and country smile.gif

Thats it smile.gif Looking forward to start smile.gif

Hi Cosmin

My very own thread ! That makes me happy biggrin.gif

I've been playing for quite a few years but I've only ever been a chord strummer really. I know the open chords and I know barre chords. I have played rhythm in a few bands. I know the penatonic scales in the 5 positions and can noodle around in them, but I don't have any great speed or have a load of licks that I can pull off.

I've only been a member for a few days and I've been doing this lesson https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...ds-rock-rhythm/ which I can do OK and this one https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Blues-Rhythm-Guitar/ which I'm finding a bit more challenging but I'm getting there. Looking around at the lessons on the site I think level 3 lessons are probably right for me at this stage.

I played piano for a while so I have some theory knowledge although I'm no expert by any means.

Musically in order I'm into Rock, indie, blues. I'm open minded and I'd also like to do some country, metal, classical - anything really.

Ideally I want to practise for an hour a day.

I hope that's enough information for you. I'm really loving the site so far and can't wait to get some structure into my learning.

Thanks for your help.

Hey man! biggrin.gif glad we can start together! First of all, can I ask your name? smile.gif

Now, my idea would be to select lessons and discuss them together as you advance. One lesson per week would be great for starters smile.gif the way I would make sure you are blazing it, is of course the REC section wink.gif

So, what do you think if we would go on this road ?

as soon as you let me know we can start wink.gif and one more thing, it would help me a lot if you could show me something recorded featuring your playing biggrin.gif

all the best

Cosmin

Alrighty Andy!

For starters, since you have already tackled those lessons you were telling me about earlier in the thread, I suggest you prepare REC takes for both of them, so that I may see a recorded performance biggrin.gif after that, it shall be a lot easier to know where to start from wink.gif

Do you think you can prepare them until Sunday? Posting the REC takes on Sunday would be great and if you have no experience with this idea, go ahead and ask away whatever it is you would need to know smile.gif

Regarding the lessons, are there any particular questions you would like to ask?

all the best

Cosmin

I'd be most honoured, mate! smile.gif

Right now I'm overwhelmed with the collabs and other stuff I have to do, and also I'm recording a new song with my band, but as soon as I get more free time I'd love to learn some of your guitar wisdom because you are a really awesome instructor. smile.gif
I'll contact you as soon as I finish this stuff and thanks a lot for the opportunity my friend, really appreciate it. smile.gif

@Andy: Sorry mate, I won't spam inside your topic anymore biggrin.gif And good luck with practicing, with Cosmin you can't go the wrong way wink.gif

Hi Cosmin

I guess I post my take in the REC forum. I just went in there to test it out. I assume you start a new thread and there's a button to post your take ? Anyway I got this error :

The error returned was:
Sorry, you do not have permission to start a topic in this forum

What do I need to do ?

I hope it's not a problem if I jump in once again. smile.gif

You can't open topics directly in the REC board.
You need to open the lesson and click on the button "Post your take".
Then the topic will be created, and the poll, along with all other needed information about the lesson will be added automatically wink.gif

Too old to be this bad at guitar cool.gif

I've tried another take. I think it's better in terms of less ringing notes and crisper chord changes. I hope so anyway !

My sound quality isn't great because I just have a cheap pc mic going into my laptop. I do have a Presonus Firebox and some decent mics but my laptop doesn't have a firewire port so I think I'm stuck with the pc mic hanging in front of my amp. I also adjusted the intonation of my guitar so hopefully it will sound less out of tune.

I hope this is worth an extra half point so I can move on and learn something new tongue.gif Come on man....it is my birthday after all smile.gif
