Hello Lukasz! This is your personal mentoring thread in which we will focus on improvisation and technique!

First things:

1) I'd like to hear recordings with yourself - if you have any, please post them here smile.gif

2) Here's an invitation for you:

Hi!
Thanks for that thread. Here i have some videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/117beast/video...0&flow=grid . Actually im working with Gabriel on Guitar Loves Piano #1 and #2 (so its not finally videos). And im in Todd Bootcamp.
Cosmin Lupu
Hello Lukasz!

I have listened to your playing and I think you are on a good way of building up your sense of expression in the Guitar plays piano lessons! Very good! smile.gif

Now, what would your favorite techniques be? What are you currently studying with Todd and Gabe so that we can have something else in here smile.gif

Cosmin
Lukasz Drazek
Actually, Todd help me with alternative picking, and Gabriel with bends (focus on taking correct pitch). My favourite guitarists are Paul Gilbert, John Pettrucci, Zakk Wylde.
For now my aim is be able to play:

so i have many work to do ;d Maybe u have some lesson recommendation which will help me to achieve my goal. Step by step. And like i said i wanna learn how to improvise smile.gif
Cosmin Lupu
Hello again Lukasz!

Since you are already studying alternate picking and bending with Gab and Todd, I'd suggest we focus on ideas that implement these aspects into your playing, as well as some ear training drills that will help you on your way to improvising.

What do you think about these to start with?

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Intervals-Etude/ - aside from developing AP skills, it will offer insight on phrasing using different types of intervals
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Combin...ios-And-Scales/ - AP and combining scales and arpeggios
http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Antoni...nter-Arpeggios/ - AP and coming up with arpeggio shapes over each chord change

I think these three combine the technique with some very useful tools for any improviser out there smile.gif

Let me know what you think and I will also post a little video regarding a first ear training assignment!

Hey mate - can you write the chord names again, but this time tune your guitar to Eb standard - that means detune the whole guitar one halfstep down: Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb - that's how they are tuned smile.gif Try again with this tuning - it was a trick about which I haven't told you - I was curious if you would pick it up by yourself tongue.gif
Lukasz Drazek
Ok i detune my guitar and its looks like this:

Intro:
A A E D A C A A - notes

Verse:

F C F C G F C Am

Mate, congrats on the verse and chorus - the intro, well smile.gif It's not there yet - are you willing to give it one more try, or should I tell you the notes? biggrin.gif
Lukasz Drazek
It took me a lot of time, let check it smile.gif
A E D C A C G A A
Cosmin Lupu
Correct! Tell me man, can you record yourself playing this tune? smile.gif
Lukasz Drazek
yes i can, im picking guitar, just give me some time and i put record here
Cosmin Lupu
Great wink.gif
Lukasz Drazek
Sorry, but tomorrow i will post record, becouse my camera baterry was discharged.
Cosmin Lupu
No problemmo mate wink.gif I will see it once it's here!
Cosmin Lupu
Hey Lukasz smile.gif As we discussed, let's post about your weekly schedules here - looking forward to see and hear your first recordings wink.gif

You have 2 days to spend on learning each lesson - understand the theoretical aspects behind each one and let me know if you have any questions. Then, slowly practice each part making up each lesson and try to put them all together, so that you can be able to play the lesson against the afferent backing track, focusing on timing and clean playing. So, this makes up for 6 hrs spent on learning each lesson in the smallest of details.

Day 1 -2 - Rhythm - http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Metal-Metrics-4/

Day 3-4 - Lead focusing on bending - http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...String-Bending/

Day 5 - Break - take this day as the one in which your brain sets the info in little drawers so that it can be used later smile.gif

Day 6 - Revision - Rehearse the lessons with the backing tracks, focusing on timing, clean/tight playing and interpretation. 1h30 min for each should suffice.

Day 7 - Revision and conclusions - spend 1 hr on each lesson trying to start with the 75% speed backing tracks ad bringing them up to 100%. Finally take 1 hr to draw your conclusions: what you have learned, what you observed at yourself.

Let's rock!

Cosmin
Lukasz Drazek
I post my takes in Rec Zone biggrin.gif
My conclusion on this week, hmm my fingers gets a lot of "stamina" and my pitches getting better.
Cosmin Lupu
Howdy mate smile.gif I watched your videos and I posted my thoughts in the REC zone comments, but since you need to focus on making things sound right - I would advise that you should spend this week in getting those suggestions up to shape so that next week you would have these two lessons in tip top shape - what do you think? I don't want to push you further without making sure that you have mastered these two and the concepts behind them.
Lukasz Drazek
Metal Metrics 4 - take2
Cosmin Lupu
Hey mate - this sounds good to me!

The only details that need a little bit more work, would be the bends in the first part - 0:09 for instance, in which you need to add more aggressive vibrato and that bending lick at 0:40 which still needs a bit more practicing smile.gif

Get those in shape as well and it's good for the REC zone!
Lukasz Drazek
I think you can give me second week plan. I wil do my bending lesson every day becouse i dont reach pitches correctly yet. But i think we can move on one step more.
Cosmin Lupu
Hey mate smile.gif Let's keep the same procedures and focus on developing your rhythm and articulation skills further. So, please apply the previous procedures on these two lessons:

Rhythm: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/beginner-rock-rhythm/

Lead: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/D-Minor-Bending/

What say you?

Cosmin
Lukasz Drazek
Hey smile.gif
Can we start working again on mine improvising skills? step by step even from 0? im really frustrating, becouse i dont know how to improvise (i suck smile.gif ), my theory knowledge is so weak. Can you help me with it? Kind of improvise workshop? Im open on your learning process. I need to find my own practice formula witch will work to me.

Dont be mad if i will freeze thread sometimes.

Luke smile.gif
Cosmin Lupu
Hey mate smile.gif Of course I will help, but you need to understand a few things:

- progress will only occur if you are consistent in your practice and learning
- you need to be ready to understand theory - the language we will use and how to apply it
- whenever you feel unsure about something, you can come back to this thread and revise what we have discussed

Now, to begin, please read the following chapters and ask me whatever seems unclear, ok? You have 2 days for this smile.gif Deal?
