  • Hello GMC !

Welcome to another class type collaboration solo. Today our topic is Time Feel soloing.

What is time feel soloing? To find out about this collaboration click HERE

There are 3 different time feels we can use and solo with. When we are using slowest rhythm at our disposal (half notes, whole notes, tied and dotted halfs or whole notes etc), we get Half Time feel. When we use regular rhythm (quarter, eight notes and combination of tied or dotted rhythms mentioned), we get Regular Time feel. Finally we have Double Time feel which implies us using 8th note triplets, 16th notes, 16th note triplets and faster rhythms.

The idea of this solo was to demonstrate and show you how you can shift gears during your solo. Regardless of how much time you have to solo, you can always think ahead in terms of time feel , and how you want your solo to develop and finish.

Tempo for this solo was 120bpm and backing track was in A minor (A min, D min E7#9 Hendrix chord). You could solo using F melodic minor on the last chord (E altered scale) or E7 arpeggio to go outside of box a bit.

Check out guitar pro file for detailed fingerings and picking.

When you finish this lesson, you should have firm understanding how to solo using Time Feel.

I used my custom guitar going trough Pod X3 live into Nuendo. Effect I used was customly created. Shoot me a message and I will send it to you!

I hope you guys will have fun playing this solo and learn from it. Hopefully there will be some takes of this one in REC program. I very much look forward to it!

Let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to your responses regarding this lesson.
