   Hi GMC! This lesson is a modern progressive lesson that would be great for beginner who needs to practice 7/8 riffs and rhythms. I have been inspired by bands like Tool and Incubus to compose this tune. These bands are New Metal bands very influenced by the most progressive bands. However, the band Dream Theater, which is older than them, have been influenced also by many Tool’s songs. So this lesson would be great for all the metal fans that would like to make their music more interesting.

As a part of this exercise you should check songs like "Nice to know you" (Incubus) or the complete "Aenima" album to know what I am talking about and then also set a drum backing with 7/4 meter and try to create your own riffs. (I recorded two "only drum" backings for you to practice this).

Tunning: Dropped D
Tempo: 84 bpm
Key: Dm

Well, I hope that you enjoy this lesson and that you get inspired!

See you!

Gabriel.-

Gabriel -

Another great lesson, not overly hard, but GREAT.

As always, your settings for your guitar and amp sound FANTASTIC. Very full and HEAVY sounding.
Don't change a thing.

Keep the lessons coming!!!!

Excellent lesson smile.gif
Since tuning down to Drop D I've really been getting into the quick rhythmic playing and low steady sound it gives out, and lessons like this give me a lot of inspiration to try new stuff, I think I'll be keeping my Guitar in D for a long time, not only because it gives me the exact sound I want, but Floyd Roses are difficult to tune ~_~;

Keep up the good work smile.gif
