Everyone's needs are different
We are all different as individuals - and this is beautifully reflected in our musical needs as well. There is no one-size-fits-all when learning to play the guitar. For this reason, we do not suggest everyone should follow a specific learning path.However, we realise this also means it might take longer for some to find their path. This is not only perfectly normal, but it is desirable. You do not want to quickly start leaning the same way your friend did - because chances are your friend does not have the same musical preferences as you, nor does he/she have the same exact musical background as you (if any).
A learning path designed for YOU
There are two effective ways we can cater for your specific needs.Personal mentoring - get help setting up a personal plan based on your needs and musical preferences. Some students use it as a springboard to design their own practice plan, while others enjoy long term guidance. A personal mentor is included in a GMC membership.
Interactive email course - which gradually tailors its content to adapt to your level of playing and musical preferences. The course will hone in on your particular needs by constantly presenting you with new learning material while asking for your feedback. Here is a tip
The students that learn fastest, use the REC functionality to post on the REC board. A minimum of three instructors will then grade your performance and provide you with constructive feedback. So if you are serious about learning fast, give yourself a deadline to submit your take for REC grading. I can promise you this will give you the sense of direction you need, and motivation to practice! (REC requires you to sign up for GMC)Go the extra mile
If you are extremely serious about your progress, we can make it happen together. You need:- more specific advice
- more personal advice
- explain your particular issues
- lessons that match your level better
- content that matches your musical preferences
