Well last week I made the decision to shell out some real cash and buy a quality guitar, and boy am I glad I did. I just recently got my Ibanez RG 2550e and I am in love with it! This is definitely the easiest guitar to play that I own, the neck is so fast and smooth I can see myself never using another brand again. I just recently got into the whole shred/metal guitar genre and I really am upset that I didn't do it earlier. For the longest time I was always anti-Ibanez and thought they were real gimmicky guitars, but I was truly wrong. You can definitely tell the difference between this guitar and a mid level guitar ($300-$600), the craftmanship by team J.Craft is amazing. Well enough rambling, i'd just like to thank everyone that made suggestions, especially Andrew who recommended this specific model. I can also do a full review of this guitar if you guys would like. Thanks again, here's some pics that I took.

Alright, so I just got my OLP John Petrucci Signature model in the mail and as usual i took it right up to this music place by my house to get it setup. Unfortuantely i get a call an hour later from the place telling me that it has a junk neck and the best thing to do would be to return it. I'm kinda dissapointed at this since i've been waiting for this guitar for a week, however after I send it back new shopping for a guitar begins. I guess i've learned my lesson from buying cheap guitars (the Petrucci OLP was only $350 US) and so i'm gonna step it up and set my price limit to $900. I already have a Les Paul and i'm looking for a good shred/Metal/Progressive guitar. I've been looking at Musiciansfriend.com but i am so clueless about metal/shred guitars. Obviously Ibanez has been my first choice but I don't really know anything about them. I'm looking for something with a nice thin neck and preferably Humbuckers. I'd greatly appreciate it if you guys could give me so info on these guitars and recommend some in the $600 -$900 US range. Thanks.

Alright here is my situation, I currently have a 50 watt Marshall JCM 900 which is great, however it is really loud and i'm looking for something more versatile. I plan on selling the 900 because at the end of this upcoming summer I will be living in an apartment for college and the 900 is just way too loud for it. This has got me thinking that maybe the Line 6 PODxt is the solution for me because of it's versatility and ability to work well at headphone volumes. I would like to know your experiences with it and if it is the best solution for my situation. I'm into all sorts of rock(Metal, progressive, alternative, etc.) and i'm pretty sure that the podxt can accomadate all my needs. Thanks in advance.

By the way this is my first post in these forums and so far i'm loving the site, keep up the great work!
