hi guys and girls i signed up today and im glad i did as the interactive content is what i need.
i have been playing guitar for about 10 years but have the skills of a 2yo player
i had one on one lessons for the first two years then i went through a phase where i only wanted to learn songs i liked not what was a good step forward for me to learn.
so i wasted about 6 years playing metal and got "good" at what i thought were great riffs but i stopped progressing because the hard stuff became to hard and i wasnt dedicated to learn.
stopped playing for a few years but never let the dream die completely.
now i have completely broadened my music tastes (even to country) and i love dream theatre so hearing john petrucci made me want to play again. i have been trying to learn as much theory as possible in the last 6 months but i am much better at learning how things are developed rather than just remembering how things are.
anyway sorry for the super long intro i would classify myself as a beginner i terms of these lessons but i find some of the intermediate stuff ok.
i have a little issue with getting bored playing easy stuff so i try to jump ahead, i know this has been my undoing in the past so i am aware and trying to avoid this, i like the guitar bushido idea because the pressure would make me learn the easy stuff and show you how good i could do it
Cheers for reading my novel.
Its not very good but this is the first thing i have learnt from this site. thanks Trond Vold!
