I just joined yesterday. (I play metal) I can't seem to find any VIDEOS with basic instructions on scales or any of that sort of need to know stuff.?? I've been playing by ear for about 15 years (off and on) and have no idea what i'm doing. I just know how to play. I can tune my guitar ,I know the names of the strings and a few names of chords . Thats about it. I feel my ear is very accurate and I can figure out just about any main riff but I have a hard time figuring out more difficult solos and if i do figure out a solo I'm not really good enough to play them anyway. I can play both of the solos in ONE (metallica) not so smoothe on the 2nd solo though. Nothing else matters (metallica) solo perfect. I can play just bout any song from metallica ,Pantera , disturbed, some megadeth but hardly any solos. It looks like you have plenty of stuff to help me with being able to play harder stuff but I still wont know what I'm doing after. This site has just about every thing I want to know just not what I need to know. I've always thought it would be more fun to figure things out on my own but I'm thinking I would be a lot better off if I knew what I was doing. Am I missing something? If not are you planning on adding this kind of material to the site? blink.gif So far I like everything else about this site. I've been trying to practice the sweeping and tapping , sweeping , and some of the finger warm-ups (good stuff . though it'll be a while before I'm good at it)
