Hello everyone. I never intended to get involved in discussions, but this site and the teachings are great so I want to get more involved. I will be 53 on Tuesday. I bought my son his first guitar when he was 6. I always enjoyed listening to him play and assumed that I had no talent and never tried to learn. My dream for him was to play as good as Randy Rhoads or Michael Schenker. He made it, but he passed away at the young age of 22 which was before he could get his music out to everyone. His guitars, amps and equipment sat for more than 2 years and then one day I picked up the guitar and started to make some noise with it. I worked my way through the pains in my fingers and then tried to get them to move independently. Happy to say it has started to sound like music and I enjoy playing. I play for hours everyday. Once I finally signed up with the school I have improved so much even I am surprised. It is fun to play and well worth the little investment. Just as an aside, I am a retired US Marine. I am originally from Wisconsin, but my wife and children and I live on a small Japanese Island called Okinawa. Nice to meet you all. Currently Amon Amarth, Kataklysm and Entwine are my favorite bands
